State: Joana Mamombe not sick. The State has received video evidence from the investigating officer, which suggests that MDC-Alliance member, Joana Mamombe, is not suffering from an anxiety disorder as she was captured on CCTV shopping in Harare’s city centre on the day she is alleged to have been hospitalised.

Prosecutor Mr Michael Reza said this today before Harare magistrate, Mrs Bianca Makwande when he intended to make an application to visit Borrowdale Halfway House in Harare, a medical facility where Mamombe is said to be admitted and have her examined by two Government doctors.

“The State wishes to make an application in terms of Section 26 of the Mental Health Act. Last night, I was advised by the investigating officer that they have come with evidence which seems to suggest she might not be suffering from the illness revealed in court.

“The evidence is on a CCTV footage and the investigating officer has downloaded the evidence on a flash disc. On the video, it shows that she was perfectly functioning and performing her normal duties and it was taken on September 4 when she was supposed to be at hospital. She was shopping,” said Mr Reza.

Mamombe’s lawyer Mr Jeremiah Bamu, who was standing in for Mr Alec Muchadehama, told court that she could physically walk to court but she cannot comprehend the trial proceedings. Mrs Makwande turned down the State’s application to visit the health centre saying it was not procedural.

The court ruled that Mamombe be taken to court, then the State proceeds with its application in terms of the Mental Health Act, done in her presence. Mamombe is expected to be taken from the health centre where she is admitted and appear in court this afternoon.

Air Zim to resume flights next week. In a statement today, Air Zimbabwe spokesperson Ms Firstme Vitori said the domestic flight schedule features the Harare/ Bulawayo/Victoria Falls/Harare morning schedule, and Harare/ Victoria Falls/ Bulawayo/Harare evening schedule every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Air Zimbabwe is set to resume domestic flights from next Wednesday while regional flights are scheduled for October 3. This is in line with last week’s Cabinet decision to resume domestic and international flights, although all passengers have to be tested for Covid-19 within 48 hours before travelling.

The regional Harare/Dar es Salaam/Harare schedule shall initially operate every Tuesday and Saturday, with an additional frequency expected towards year-end. “Air Zimbabwe wishes to announce the resumption of domestic and regional flight operations with effect from 23 September 2020 and 3 October 2020, respectively,” said Ms Vitori.

“The airline still awaits confirmation of the opening of South African airspace and airports, whereinafter, dates for resumption of flights into Johannesburg shall be announced.

“Sales offices are now open for bookings and ticketing. Clients are encouraged to follow Covid-19 prevention protocols whenever they visit the sales offices.” Air Zimbabwe is expected to publish guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care, World Health Organisation and International Air Transport Association (IATA) for air travel from time to time.

Presently, the guidelines include personal masking up, sanitising, washing hands, temperature checks, as well as disinfection of aircraft before boarding and after passengers, have disembarked.

Ms Vitori said the Airline shall continue to review its business focus in line with market trends. Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa, told journalists during a post-Cabinet briefing last week that standard operating procedures had been put in place for the safe reopening of airports.

“The national guidelines for aviation safety and security have been developed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe to ensure the safety of both the travellers and airport staff. These are additional to the temperature testing, social distancing, sanitisation, and mandatory wearing of masks.

“All travellers will be required to have a PCR Covid-19 clearance certificate issued by a recognised facility within 48 hours from the date of departure, in line with WHO guidelines,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.

The decision to resume flights was made after Cabinet received an update on the steps are being taken to contain the Covid-19 pandemic from the chairperson of the Ad-Hoc Inter-Ministerial Task Force, Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri.

Warriors international players round: Nakamba was marvelous for Villa

Nakamba was marvellous last night for Villa. Nakamba played a pivotal role in the midfield when Villa came from a goal down to beat League One outfit Burton Albion 3-1 in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Warriors midfielder Marvelous Nakamba showed “serious levels of energy” on his return to the Aston Villa starting line-up as Zimbabwean players experienced mixed fortunes in Europe on Tuesday night.

His compatriot Jordan Zemura made a brilliant senior team debut for English Championship side Bournemouth, who also progressed to the third round of the Carabao Cup courtesy of a thrilling 11-10 shootout victory over Premiership team, Crystal Palace.

The 20-year-old played 90 minutes and capped a memorable evening for himself when he converted his kick from the spot during the tie-breaker after the teams were involved in a goalless affair in regulation time.

But there was no such good news for another warrior hopeful, Macauley Bonne, whose side Charlton Athletic lost 3-0 to West Ham. Across the English Channel, in France, Tino Kadewere, made his first Ligue 1 start for Olympique Lyon, albeit in a losing cause. The 25-year-old was thrown into the fray ahead of Barcelona target Memphis Depay as Lyon lost 1-2 at Montpellier.

Kadewere, who fired blanks on the night, revealed after the match that he was disappointed with the result and encouraged his teammates to keep working hard to get back on track ahead of their next game against Nimes on Friday. “I am sad about the result,” he said.

“We did let our opponents play too much and we didn’t make any impact in the duels. Now we have to look at the next game and win. You have to keep a cool head and keep working,” added Kadewere.

Pic of the day: Officer caught sleeping with a woman on duty. A funny picture of a police officer sleeping on police station benches cuddling with a woman many are saying was arrested because of being a sister of the night has gone viral on social media.

We know these people sometimes abuse their office power and use it for other personal activities that will cause problems for their jobs if caught but this picture right here is something else. We can not say they had just finished the adult game and were resting when the sleepiness got the better of them no.

Maybe it might be a case of cold. Maybe they decided to cuddle because they were warming each other. We dont know we are just speculating. Things that happen in Zimbabwe will shock you.

Man stuns court as he demanded to go to jail with lover. The suspect Romeo Kuvengana appeared before Harare magistrate Judith Taruvinga and when he was called to the dock and an application for placement on remand was made by prosecutor Sabastian Mutizirwa, he began shouting for his lover.

A Hatcliffe man who was appearing in court for unlawful entry left the court shell-shocked after he started hallucinating that he was only going to go to remand prison with the love of his life Juliet.

“I met the love of my life at the night club upstairs where she was a dancer, we have been doing drugs together, everything together, bring her so that we can go together to , I love her and her name is Juliet Kuvengana, I can see Samuel Etto seated there,” he said causing the court gallery to roar into laughter.

Prosecutor Mutizirwa was left with no choice but to apply that Kuvengana be examined by two mental health experts as he appeared to be mentally unstable.

Allegations are that on August 28 and at ZINWA offices at Celestial Park, Kuvengana unlawfully entered Albert Mare’s office at the premises and while in the office, he reportedly stole a laptop bag with certificates, title deeds and a Samsung s10 phone belonging to Mare.

Mambo Dhuterere songs changing lives, women keeping their pregnancy after hearing Ahuwerere

Mambo Dhuterere songs changing lives, women keeping their pregnants after hearing Ahuwerere. Mambo Dhuterere, who came into the limelight last year with the album Dare Guru, said he is pleased to find out that the word in his music is changing and saving lives.

The Mweya Ndisesekedze singer said some women confessed to him that they decided to keep their pregnancy after listening to the song Ahuwerere which castigates abortion.  Gospel musician of the moment, Mambo Dhuterere says he is getting inspiring testimonies from people who were touched by his music.

“The important thing is giving a message that persuades people to repent, and at times some of them give testimonies. “I received messages from different women who openly told me that they changed their mind and decided not to abort after listening to the song Ahuwerere from last year’s album.

“Some showed me two children who were saved by the words from the song Ahuwerere. And the other woman said her young sister also wanted to abort the pregnancy, but when she played her the song Ahuwerere she changed her mind. She even showed me the child,” said Mambo Dhuterere.

“Some would say they want to thank God for not aborting after they listened to the song. They even say they feel happy and free after giving birth to their children. “That is what we want in gospel music. When people come with such testimonies it means the mission of the gospel is being fulfilled,” he added.

Mambo Dhuterere said it gives him a sense of satisfaction to know that his music is making a positive impact to people’s lives. “I am so happy with the results coming from the Word in the music as it is changing the lives of people.

“It feels good when you hear someone telling a true story on how music brought peace into their lives after it influenced them to change their lifestyle,” he said. Mambo Dhuterere, who has a new album – Zvino Dzimba Ngoni – that is playing in the streets at moment, said he is impressed with how his music continues to make people think twice about their lifestyle.

He also said the praises should go to God who gives him music. “I am loving the response of people on the new songs. The fact of testimonies and life-changing, especially from men on the song Zvinonyadzisa.

“A lot of men have said some of the things they do result from temptations and it would not be their intentions. “However, some are saying if someone addresses these issues like the way I did, it drives them to start thinking of repenting or avoid activities that lead to sinning and hurt people,” he told H-Metro.

“A lot of people are thanking me for the songs but I give thanks to the God Almighty because He is the one responsible for the songs,” he added. Mambo Dhuterere said though his music has a message that does not support forbidden earthly pleasures enjoyed by many, he is surprised with the love he gets in the streets.

“With gospel music, it would be like you are in conflict with people because mostly you will be singing the message that is opposite to what people like. “Despite that, people are thanking me for the message most of the times I come across them in socialising. “If they are people attacking me maybe it would be on social media.

“But people I meet in streets they are full of praises and thankful. I believe the words hold the power of the Holy Spirit,” he said. Despite releasing his fourth album Zvino Dzimba Ngoni during the covid-19 lockdown, Mambo Dhuterere said he is happy with the way the album has been received.

“The album has been received more than what we expected since with this lockdown situation we thought it would stifle the album to penetrate the market. “I am, however grateful that the album has reached to the people and they have embraced it.

“Like I said before and as what you have noticed that the album has different themes of hope, prayer and teaching. There are songs for almost everyone according to their situation and experience,” said Mambo Dhuterere. He said all videos for the songs are available.

“I am releasing one video per week on every Monday. All songs have the videos. “So far we have released Zvinonyadzisa and Kurira Mukundi. Next Monday I will release Kubata Basa, then Ndinzweyi and Ndabvunza Emanuwere will be last one,” he said.

Popular music promoter Boss Spencer turns 40. Known as Boss Spencer, the affable entertainment consultant and philanthropist has every reason to be ecstatic as he celebrates yet another milestone. Events management guru, businessman and music promoter, Spencer Madziya, turns 40 today.

Famed for hosting themed parties in the capital and its environs, unrivalled artist management skills and hospitality, Boss Spencer has vowed to instil professionalism in showbiz in his birthday message. Read on… TK: As an events management guru, music promoter, art consultant and businessman, what does this 40th birthday mean to you?

BS: This 40th birthday is a huge milestone in my life, a lot has happened in my personal and business life and rightly so I’m amazed by God’s grace, many have failed to reach these four decades. It’s special.

TK: What’s your special message to Zimbabweans (of course biased towards your sector) can you give them as you are celebrating your 40th birthday?

BS: To my colleagues in the arts sector, I salute your resilience, faced with an under-funded sector hit by Covid-19 pandemic but still soldiering on.

Let’s keep be innovative we will win. TK: How are you going to celebrate it considering the Covid-19 lockdown which seen many events being suspended or held online?

BS: At 40 it’s hard not to celebrate, celebrations have been slotted at the farm ably organised by colleagues of Spencer, of course, all WHO guidelines on Covid-19 will be applied fully.

The venue chosen represents a change in my life as I turn 40th. This edition will also be celebrating the birth of one of the biggest arts promoters, a personal friend DJ Dollarbill, it will be quite a big extravaganza.

TK: What do you miss a most as someone who used to host weekly themed parties at Motor Action among other places, which you had turned as chill spots for fun?

BS: Covid-19 dealt us all a heavy blow and Motor Action Sundays are surely missed, we will not stop lobbying our Government to reopen the arts sector as they have done for tourism.

Motor Action Sundays were not only Party Sundays but also where we all met and discussed the sector and many other business opportunities.

We hope to return soon.

TK: With a surge in new Covid-19 infections, how are you going to run your events?

BS: Events in this scourge can be successfully run if we follow WHO guidelines on the Covid-19 pandemic.

The country has seen a lot of entrepreneurs bringing in equipment to disinfect, sanitise and cope with this virus infections, I see no reason why events cannot start right away.

What we will witness is an unsanctioned back alley, underground events and more infections if we don’t open up the arts sector and put measures for reopening.

TK: What do you itch for an events management guru who has hosted the Who is Who of Zim Showbiz?

BS: As Host to many, I do truly miss hosting exclusive parties, our international artists have not been able to travel and light up our entertainment, we can only reminisce now sadly!

TK: What are some of the major highlights of your journey as an events management person from the days you used to operate in Warren Park D, then The Volt Courtyard and Motor Action to date?

BS: From Mereki to Jameson, Sphinx, The Volt and Motor Action, I am in actual awe at how all these venues have had an impact in my life.

Each and every venue has been special from hosting some of the biggest names on the local scene to international stars, I will not single out any. It has been an awesome journey throughout.

TK: From your experience, what makes one a distinct events manager/planner/host?

BS: To be distinct in this sector, one has to be hands on and on the ground, one needs to be in touch with what is currently trending, and mostly stay humble. A cool head over and above everything.

TK: How do you balance your schedules as someone who is gainfully employed in the construction sector, which has its demands?

BS: When both careers are a passion a balance is the easiest thing to achieve, being a full time Managing Director of Tile Essentials requires dedication and time but with able teams on both divides, I manage well.

TK: From the events that you hosted, which are the memorable shows you hosted and why?

BS: Hosting Charlie Black and Kalado welcome parties, and the Pachedu Awards courtesy of Simbarashe Nyanhanga, are some of the memorable shows we have hosted.

TK: From the events that you hosted, which are the worst shows you hosted and why?

BS: So far I’m yet to be disappointed all shows have been splendid!

TK: How do you handle ladies who literally throw themselves at you when you doing such big shows/events?

BS: I believe Ladies can only literally throw themselves at one if you handle yourself in the manner that attracts that, but when it does happen a simple curt reminder to them that that shop is closed.

TK:) From your experience what advice can you give to celebrities to host successful shows?

BS: celebrities wanting to host successful shows simply have to engage the best in the game.

Professionalism is the only way to go, from your sound to your marketing team, professionalism, professionalism is the key.

TK: Besides events management what else are you planning in as far as boosting the showbiz scene goes?

BS: We have been busy putting up structures for the newly formed association of arts and music promoters, we are seeking a voice to be able to lobby for changes in how our sector has been administered.

We are currently in the audience with our principals the arts regulatory body NACZ and the Ministry. This should see a boost in the show biz scene and the whole industry!

TK: What support do you need from arts regulatory bodies and corporate players to ensure you host successful events in future?

BS: We are tabling a paper as an Association to tackle challenges we are facing in our sector, we hope this will go a long way in alleviating the debilitating effects in our industry. Their open-door policy is recommended and we are working well with our Principals though much can still be improved, we are working on that with our regulatory bodies.

TK: You message of hope to fun-loving people who miss going out during the Covid-19 lockdown era?

BS: To all our merry makers fun loving people, we are with you in these trying times but be rest assured the times will roll back soon. Be resilient.

TK: How important is it to invest in showbiz?

BS: The importance of investing in show biz can never be over emphasized, it is a billion dollar industry look at our neighbors in Mzansi, with the right framework and policies returns can be major.

TK: As a way of giving back to society, what have you done to change other people’s lives using your influence?

BS: 19: Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them.

If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by others.

Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Those that will testify will testify.

TK: Thanks BS and happy birthday.

BS: Welcome.

Harare Town Clerk Chisango granted bail. According to the publication, Chisango was arrested together with the director of housing and community services Addmore Nhekairo and suspended town planner, Samuel Nyabezi and the trio were all released on bail by Harare Magistrate Mrs Bianca Makwande.

Suspended Hosiah Chisango, Harare Town Clerk has been freed on $50 000 bail after he was arrested in Gweru by Special Anti Corruption Unit (SACU) last week, The Herald reports.

Under his bail condition, Chisango was ordered not to visit the Town House until October 5 to allow investigations to be finalised. In granting Chisango bail, Makwande said:

First accused (Chisango) holds a powerful position at council and is reasonable to conclude that he would interfere with witnesses. What is clear is that this witness recorded a warned and cautioned statement and there is no likelihood that he would interfere with this witness.

Accused two (Nhekairo) has been on bail on other matters and has not attempted to interfere or influence investigations. This matter is not peculiar to other matters he is facing before the court. He has not been interfering with investigations in those cases and there is no room for him to interfere with witnesses

Chisango has denied allegations levelled against him and said he committed no crime anything he is accused of he only acted according to his duties and responsibilities as enshrined in the Urban Councils Act and that it was the State’s onus to prove criminal conduct.

Nhekairo and Nyabezi were also ordered to stick to bail conditions imposed on other cases involving illegal sale of stands, which are pending before the court.

Chisango, Nhekairo and Nyabezi are being charged with criminal abuse of office, bribery and fraud that stemmed from the illegal parcelling of stands in Kuwadzana, Harare. She said Nhekairo has not violated any of his bail conditions imposed on his previous matters, leaving him with less changes of interfering with investigations.

Magistrate Makwande said Nyabezi has been stripped of his powers following suspension from work leaving him with few chances of influencing witnesses. Chisango was being represented by Advocate Ray Goba, Nhekairo was being represented by Mr Batanai Pesanai while Nyabezi was being presented by Mr Simon Chabuka.

For Chisango’s bail, Advocated Goba told the court that his client only acted according to his duties and responsibilities as enshrined in the Urban Councils Act and that it was the State’s onus to prove a criminal conduct.

He accused council works director Isaiah Zvenyika Chawatama for instigating the allegations since they never had a good working relationship. Chisango, through Adv Goba, had said he would not interfere with witnesses once freed on bail. Nhekairo had argued that there was no documentary evidence linking him to the alleged offences.

He said there was no basis to suggest that he received a bribe as the State alleges. Nyabezi told the court that he could not interfere with witnesses since he has been suspended from work.

He said the State has a weak case against him since documents that the State forms basis of his offence does not bear any of his signature. Nyabezi told the court that the plan at the epicentre of the allegations does not bear his signature.

Mnangagwa appears in court, refuse to be jailed. Tafadzwa Mnangagwa pleaded guilty to the charge but was lucky to escape jail after the magistrate suspended the jail term to 325 hours of community service. Mnangagwa told the state that he was a nephew to the president and should not go to jail.

A self-proclaimed nephew of President Emmerson Mnangagwa was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment by Guruve resident magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa yesterday for theft.

Prosecutor Carson Kundiona told the court that on September 12 around 3 pm Mnangagwa stormed Wardon Chase primary school and went to a teacher’s homestead and stole a mobile phone which was on the charger. The teacher woke up two hours later and discovered that his mobile phone had been stolen.

The teacher teamed up with his colleagues and followed Mnangagwa’s footprints which led them to a bus stop where he was. They conducted a body search on him and recovered the stolen property. He was taken to police Mvurwi station.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has disclosed that in his belief the world is ending soon, saying that it will happen in the next three years – The cleric said that even if it does not happen then, it could be in six years’ time or at most 10 years from now – Pastor Chris, therefore, called on people to give their lives to Christ, adding that the end is really near

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the head of Love World Ministries aka Christ Embassy, has given the timeline of when the Rapture will happen. He said that however late the event takes place, it can never exceed a-10-year timeframe. The man of God made this known when making an altar call for “lost souls”.

While asking people to give their lives to Christ, he said the last hours are here. On the church’s Instagram page, he asked those who want to be led to Christ to send a DM and they will be guided accordingly. “If the Rapture doesn’t happen in 3 years, it might be 6 years. If it doesn’t happen by then, it cannot exceed 10 years. “You have to give your heart to Jesus today because we are living in the LAST HOURS. Send us a DM and we will lead you to Christ. It’s that simple,” the Instagram post read.
