Fear over 2020 Exams

Fear over 2020 Exams. This comes as the country recorded a drop in the overall June examinations national pass rate, with Ordinary Level candidates recording 17,91 percent, representing an 82 percent failure rate, while the percentage pass rate for Advanced Level candidates was 67,06 percent.

Education stakeholders have expressed fears that the teachers’ strike could compromise this year’s Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (Zimsec) results for Ordinary and Advanced level candidates.

In comparison to the June 2019 session, about 3 218 Ordinary Level candidates wrote five or more subjects and 742 of these passed five or more subjects with grade C or better, resulting in a national percentage pass rate of 23,06 percent.

On the other hand, 2 638 candidates wrote two or more Advanced Level subjects and 1 769 obtained Grade E or better in two or more subjects, translating to a 67,06 percent pass rate compared to 68,6 percent in 2019.

Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (Artuz) president Obert Masaraure told the Daily News yesterday that as stakeholders they were worried about the reputation of the county’s education system if the November examinations were allowed to go ahead.

“We are not only preoccupied with results, which are usually doctored to conform to a desired normal distribution curve. We are more concerned with the exit profile of the learner and the overall quality of our education system,” Masaraure said.

“Imposing examinations on these unprepared learners compromise our education and the exit profile of learners. Our learners are transiting to the next learning levels without acquiring critical mandatory knowledge.”

Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) secretary-general Raymond Majongwe weighed in, saying it would be foolhardy to read much into the results of the June examination as the majority of the candidates were those retaking them after initially failing.

“Those results do not even reflect the extent to which knowledge was acquired. Those low pass rates, I can assure you, were tampered with by the authorities who wanted to project a picture of normalcy, that nothing has really changed compared to last year.

“The truth of the matter is that those sitting for the November examination were last taught in March and to think that they will sit an examination and come out with a credible result is the height of tomfoolery.

The authorities must sober up and ask themselves where they intend to take this country’s education. They are killing our children. There is no examination to talk about. It’s all unreasonable,” Majongwe said.

The total number of Advanced Level candidates who sat for the June 2020 examination was 5 058 compared to 5 923 in 2019, a decrease of 865, which is 14,6 percent.

This comes as the government is insisting on going ahead with this year’s November public examinations notwithstanding the fact that teachers have been on strike since schools reopened in September after they closed in March as part of the government’s attempt to combat the spread of the deadly Covid-19.

The teachers are now divided over the recent 41 percent pay increase that the government offered them, with some accepting the offer while some insist on being paid US$520 or the equivalent. This year’s candidate entry for both Ordinary and Advanced Levels were low compared to 2019.

Trevor had this to say about his gig on The Grammys website. “Despite the fact that I am extremely disappointed that the GRAMMYs have refused to have me sing or be nominated for best pop album, I am thrilled to be hosting this auspicious event,” said the comedian.

“I think as a one-time GRAMMY nominee, I am the best person to provide a shoulder to all the amazing artists who do not win on the night because I too know the pain of not winning the award! (This is a metaphorical shoulder, I’m not trying to catch Corona). See you at the 63rd GRAMMYs!”

Trevor Noah

Noah shared his excitement through social media, writing. “In a year that most human beings would love to forget, there has been one constant force that has brought us together – Music. I’m truly honoured to be hosting The Grammys, a night celebrating all of our favourite artists who’ve helped keep us sane while we’re all stuck indoors!

Trevor was nominated for a Grammy this year in the Best Comedy Album category for his audiobook Son of Patricia. Even though he didn’t win, many would say that he got the last laugh as he’ll be hosting the biggest music spectacle on the planet.

The comedian has been linked to Minka Kelly. According to Entertainment Tonight, the two were seen shopping for a house in LA. Rumours suggest that the two were quarantining together in Noah’s Manhattan home. Neither Trevor nor Minka have confirmed or denied the reports.

Trevor has had a good November as he recently graced the cover of GQ magazine.

The worst thing about being on the cover of GQ is they can make you look so good people in real life are like… “Damn Trev, what happened?”

2 dead after Zimbabwe Airforce plane crash. The two were on routine training from Josiah Tungamirai Air Force Base when the accident occurred. They were identified as Mkhululi Dube, the instructor and his student, only identified as Sweswe.

An Air Force of Zimbabwe instructor and a female student pilot died when a training plane they were flying developed a technical fault and crashed at Dabuka in Somabula on the outskirts of Gweru yesterday.

Their ranks could not be ascertained yesterday. The Airforce of Zimbabwe was by last night still to release an official statement on the accident which occurred at around 2 30 pm. When a Chronicle news crew arrived at the scene a military medical team had just arrived and was trying to retrieve the bodies that were trapped in the wreckage of the small plane.

Witnesses said the plane which was heading southwards was trying to make a U-turn when it crashed. “This is usually the training ground for pilots and we usually gather to view their flying prowess. We were surprised when the plane started jerking. In the twinkle of an eye the plane had crashed and there was a cloud of dust. We rushed to the scene but we could not help,” said a witness who requested not to be named.

A team from the Air Force of Zimbabwe arrived at the scene some 20 minutes after the crash and dispersed villagers who had just gathered before retrieving the bodies.

Josiah Tungamirai Acting Base Commander, Group Captain Esswein Masuku declined to comment over the matter referring all questions to the Airforce of Zimbabwe Headquarters.

More than 1 000 defiant nurses struck off payroll

More than 1 000 defiant nurses struck off payroll. Zimbabwe Nurses Association (Zina) said more than 1 200 of its members who defied the Government directive to revert to the normal working hours did not receive their November salaries and bonuses on the no-work-no-pay basis.

More than 1 200 nurses who failed to comply with a Government directive to revert to the normal working hours did not receive their November salaries and bonuses after they were struck off the payroll by their employer, the Health Service Board (HSB).

Nurses had crafted a working schedule under which they worked for a few hours a week dubbed “flexible hours”, but the arrangement proved unsustainable, especially with the threat of Covid-19 continuing to hover over the country, resulting in Government cancelling the plan and ordering a return to normal duty rosters.

The flexible working hours originally entailed working long hours of up to 12 for two days a week, an arrangement that was introduced through a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) to cushion health workers, particularly nurses, from high transport costs leading to an indefinite strike over the erosion of their salaries by inflation.

Most nurses were now working two days a week for 12 hours a day before the government resolved that all health workers should now revert to normal working hours. The government said it would now compensate for the “flexi-hours” with a tax waiver on all health workers and a US$75 risk allowance.

Government, through a circular, recently directed provincial medical directors and central hospitals’ chief executive officers to scrap the flexible working hours arrangement for nurses and revert to the one which was introduced during the Covid-19 induced lockdown period after Zina cited incapacitation.

Zina president Mr Enock Dongo said his organisation noted that nurses who didn’t revert to the normal working hours were removed from the payroll.

“Everyone who did not follow the new normal working hours schedule were removed from the payroll simply because they adhered to the flexible hours not because they were on strike.

“The nurses affected are more than 1 200 and even up to today those nurses are not on the payroll and they didn’t receive their November salaries and bonuses,” he said. Mr Dongo urged the Government to reinstate the nurses on the salary schedule so that they are able to report for duty.

“How do you expect them to report for work and efficiently offer their services? We took this matter to court challenging Government’s decision to impose normal working hours on them without consultation and we got an interim relief,” he said.

It is, however, yet to be seen whether the HSB will put back the affected nurses on the payroll following last week’s ruling by the High Court reversing Government’s decision to scrap the flexible working hours arrangement for nurses.

The ruling by Harare High Court judge Justice Joseph Mafusire followed an urgent chamber application by Zina, through their lawyer Mr Tinotenda Matonhodze of Matizanadzo and Warhurst Legal Practitioners, challenging the Government directive.

Zina, in their court papers, cited the HSB, Health and Child Care Minister, Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga and his Permanent Secretary Air Commodore Dr Jasper Chimedza, as respondents.

Justice Mafusire ruled that pending the finalisation of an application for a declaratory order under case number HC6479/20, the respondents are barred from implementing the directive by Dr Chimedza on October 19, 2020, which called upon nurses to resume the normal shifts. Mr Dongo said the only way to resolve the stalemate was through dialogue.

“We can only address this impasse by going back to the bipartite forum. We agreed that flexible hours can only be removed when the government reviews our salaries and that hasn’t happened since 2019. We also raised the issue of Covid-19 where we wanted to decongest the workplace,” he said.

“The decision by our employer to withhold salaries for some nurses who failed to comply with normal hours directive is an act of cruelty. What happened is the nurses were not on strike, but followed the flexible hours duties since we were contesting the removal of flexible hours in court.”

Mr Dongo said they received a circular from their Permanent Secretary which was cancelling the flexible hours and directing provincial medical directors and hospital chief executive officers to implement the normal working hours.

“What we believe is that the flexible hours came through a process of the bipartite forum which is a legal entity in health delivery system where workers and Government come together on a roundtable with equal powers and then come up with an agreement,” he said.

“The flexible working hours was a product of CBA and according to that, the bipartite forum was established by Statutory Instrument 111 of 2006.

This SI cannot be unilaterally removed by any person and even the Minister doesn’t have the powers to do that. Unfortunately, we have discovered that the new Permanent Secretary is acting on misleading information from the HSB.”

Contacted for comment, HSB chairperson Dr Paulinus Sikosana said: “It is difficult for me to say whether they (nurses) were paid or not because I didn’t see their payslips indicating that they didn’t receive their pay. However, there were some who did not come to work and for that day they were not paid.”

“They took the matter to court pertaining to the issue of flexible hours and usually when issues are still before courts, we don’t discuss them.”

In May, Government announced that HSB has removed 1 032 defiant nurses from its pay sheets after they declined to resume normal working hours and insisted on either not working or working sharply reduced hours.

Besides not paying those who are not working, HSB was now instituting disciplinary hearings for at least 1 280 nurses, who have defied the call to return to normal duties.

South Africa likely to return to lockdown

South Africa likely to return to lockdown. Ranked number 16 in the world in infections, the country has the highest number of cases in Africa. Although South Africa has dropped out of the world’s top five most affected countries, concerns are rising that there could be another spike in infections as new data shows the number of deaths could have been under-reported.

South Africa could return into lockdown following an upsurge in Covid-19 infections. After some European countries went back into lockdown, South Africa could follow suit. In July, South Africa was recording an average of 12 000 new cases per day. But after infections dropped to about 1 500 a day in the past two months, this has now gone up to 2 000 new cases.

So far, the country has recorded 754 256 Covid-19 incidents with over 20 000 deaths recorded. President Cyril Ramaphosa himself went into self-quarantine last week after coming into contact with a guest at a dinner, who later tested positive for Covid-19. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize had tested positive and recovered from Covid-19.

Following a special Cabinet sitting that adopted recommendations of the National Coronavirus Command Council meeting, President Ramaphosa has decided to remain on Level One lockdown. He expressed concern that the country was far from safe, and that he could impose strict measures to contain the pandemic especially after a rise of cases in the Eastern Cape.

“We are seeing how quickly and how dramatically infections can rise in a number of countries,” said President Ramaphosa. “The rise in infections in some of these countries has led to the reimposition of tough restrictions.

“We have also seen in other countries how a resurgence can dash hopes for a swift economic recovery. The first is the situation in the Eastern Cape, which is showing signs of a resurgence.”

Alcohol consumption has been seen as a reason for the resurgence of Covid-19 cases. But President Ramaphosa surprised the nation by opening up longer permitted alcohol sales hours. Economic activities are operating fully including tourism, mining and banking services.

Hailstorm destroys schools in Zvishavane. Preparations for final examinations at Dambudzo Secondary and Lundi Primary schools in Zvishavane have been affected after a violent hailstorm destroyed infrastructure at the two learning institutions this Monday.

The rains were met with relief in Zvishavane but not at Dambudzo secondary and Lundi primary schools, where classroom blocks were destroyed by a hailstorm on Monday.

This comes with less than a week before grade seven examinations and a fortnight ahead of ordinary level exams.

Lessons have since been suspended to clear debris at Dambudzo secondary school while the local leadership and school administrators at Lundi primary school convened an urgent meeting this Tuesday to map the way forward.

The hailstorm which destroyed infrastructure at Dambudzo secondary, as well as three classroom blocks and a teacher’s cottage at Lundi primary school, also left a trail of destruction in the neighbouring village and business centre.

Scare as Zim hit by ARV shortage hits

Scare as Zim hit by ARV shortage hits. A shipment of Antiretroviral (ARV) drugs meant for Zimbabwe will not be arriving in time due to Covid -19 induced delays, forcing the Ministry of Health and Child Care to reduce its six-month multi-drug dispensation to a maximum of three months.

This measure will ensure all patients receiving ARVs are catered for until more stocks are available. In a circular – stamped November 23, 2020, from the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Dr Jasper Chimedza, to all Provincial Medical Directors, Chief Executive Officers of central hospitals and Directors of Health Services, said there would be a shortage of ARV drugs such as Tenofovir, Iamvudine and Dolutegravir due to shipment delays.

“The country has been advised by the supplier that due to Covid-19 induced delays in the production of the above product, shipments to Zimbabwe are going to be delayed and this will lead to shortages being experienced in the country,” he said.

The permanent secretary said in order to lessen the impact of shortages, the health ministry recommended that the multi-month dispensing (a six month supply of drugs) be reduced to three months per patient guided by stocks available at medical facilities.

He also added that “the provinces actively redistribute stocks between facilities to make sure there is equitable availability amongst facilities.” “The ministry will provide further guidance once stocks in the country improve,” Chimedza said.

The above ARVs drugs are the recommended first-line of antiretroviral treatment every patient must be on including both who are starting and those on older versions. The multi-month drug supply was given to all stable patients instead of them constantly going to hospitals.

It also limited movement during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic to curb its spread while also lessening burden on patients especially those in rural areas who had incurred
In an interview with CITE, Director of the AIDS and TB unit in the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Dr Owen Mugurungi, said the cutting down of drug supply from six to three months would make sure every patient received their allocation until stocks improved.

“We hope there will not be negative effects for patients because instead of giving drugs for six months we are giving them a three month supply. That will mitigate against shortages than if we give drugs for six months to someone who will be holding on to their supply when another does not have any,” he said.

“Providing three months drugs can push someone and hopefully in the next two months or so the shipment would have made its way here then stocks would be available once more. The delays are beyond our control but we must work around them.”

COVID-19 scare: Education Ministry reviews boarding hostels capacities. Zimbabwe has recorded a cumulative 9 120 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 8 229 recoveries, and 265 deaths as at Monday this week while the national recovery rate is 90.2 per cent with 7 650 of the COVID-19 positive cases are local transmissions.

Government is reviewing the maximum carrying capacity of all boarding school hostels after 184 pupils at John Tallach School in Ntabazinduna, Matabeleland North, tested positive of the COVID-19 while it is also set to intensify the enforcement of lockdown restrictions and measures as the country experienced a surge in the number of cases in the past three weeks.

New cases for Week 46 stood at 281, compared to 294 recorded in week 45 while the total number of PCR tests done during the reporting week is 6 191, up from 5 028 carried out during the previous week with the increase being attributed to wider utilisation of Gene Xpert machines.

Addressing 42th Post-Cabinet Press Briefing on Tuesday, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said in response to COVID-19 positive cases reported at learning institutions following the full re-opening of schools, the government had put in place measures to strengthen protective and preventative moves measures in boarding school environments.

“The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education with technical support from the Ministry of Health and Child Care was reviewing the maximum carrying capacity of all boarding hostels; conducting a detailed inspection of boarding facilities; and targeted training of hostel matron, boarding masters as well as kitchen staff,” she said.

To guarantee of freshwater to schools in need, the minister said $150 million was released to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for the drilling of boreholes.

Mutsvangwa said Cabinet had expressed concern over the increase in COVID-19 positive cases over the past three weeks reiterating that the lockdown and curfew measures previously announced were still subsisting.

“It should be noted that public bars, night clubs, beerhalls, casinos, betting shops and theatres are still not permitted to operate. The nation is informed that gatherings are still limited to two (2) persons, while authorised events such as weddings and church congregation as are limited to fifty (50) and one hundred (100) persons, respectively.

“The enforcement of lockdown measures will be intensified henceforth. It should be emphasized that where there is non-compliance to these regulations the low enforcement agencies will not hesitate to enforce the penalties prescribed,” she said.

She advised the public to take all the necessary precautions to prevent a surge in COVID-19 positive cases ahead of the festive season. “Those visiting the country should undergo COVID-19 tests in their countries of origin and bring valid COVID-19 negative results obtained within 48 hours of departure in line with WHO protocols.

“Meanwhile, a robust awareness creation programme is being rolled out under which the engagement of communities is being strengthened.”

Cabinet advises that Natpharm and private companies have adequate stocks of most medicines and drugs required for the prevention, treatment and supportive management of COVID-19. Stocks of PPE are also sufficient to meet demand.

Meanwhile, Minister Mutsvangwa released learner attendance statistics for both primary and secondary education sector which stood at 50.7 percent for Phase 1 (final examination classes); Phase 2 (Grade 6, Form 3 and Lower 6th Form) standing at 42.26 percent and Phase 3 (ECD, Grade 1,2,3,4,5, Form 1 and 2) recorded at 32.78 percent.

List of Actors who dumped Isibaya in 2020

Mzansi’s magic hit soapie Isibaya has had a terrible year in 2020, from losing some of its actors to getting canned, it seems there was so much drama behind the scenes that many could not handle on the show.

The award-winning show first aired its first episode on 18 March 2013 and it became a household name. The show started as a telenovela and it went on to become a long-standing soapie on the channel.

The telenovela follows the lives of two feuding families, the Zungu’s and the Ndlovu’s, in the cut-throat taxi industry. Two young lovers from the two families cause havoc when they fell in love with each other, but both families mend their relationship as the lovebirds take their love to the next level.

It is safe to say that 2020 was Isibaya’s year as numerous actors handed over their resignation letters and dumped it, some left the show amid a decline in ratings.

Daily Sun recently confirmed that the show was not renewed for another season and that the cast and crew members were well aware that the show is in its final season, and that the announcement did not shock either of them.

“Unfortunately, the channel has decided not to renew the show for another season because it doesn’t see a return on investment and doesn’t see sense in continuing with a property that doesn’t make financial sense. The production company was given a time frame within which to increase ratings, but they’re still low.

“The show’s creators are said to have tried to energize ratings by bringing back old and famous faces, but even this didn’t help. They tried to get some of Mzansi’s most recognisable faces, but that hasn’t worked in their favor. The channel asked the producers to come up with ways to improve the show and gave them a deadline to achieve this,” said a mole who spoke to the publication.

Here is a list of actors who left the show in 2020:

1. Nomzamo Mbatha

The actress seemingly left the show on good terms due to her busy career. Nomzamo scored a role in the upcoming Coming 2 America sequel which is set to be released on March 5, 2021, on Amazon Prime.

The role forced her to relocate to the big apple and it was not easy for her to kill two birds with one stone. Nomzamo came back to South Africa to shoot her final scenes on the show and her character was killed off.

Nomzamo Mbatha

2. Jessica Nkosi

The Kwazulu-Natal born actress recently bid farewell to the show after she landed a role on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen.

Speaking to Sunday World, Jessica said she left the show to expand her craft and this was not the first time she left “It is true that I’m leaving Isibaya. I’d like to explore the industry and expand on my craft a little further. It was time for me to leave. I’m so grateful to the Isibaya team for helping me establish myself in this industry with such an incredible cast and crew. I’m still on the show and viewers will have to watch to see when my last episode is. To the viewers of Isibaya, I say thank you,” she said.

3. Siyabonga Thwala

Siyabonga Twala recently left the show after a long 8-year-run with it. His exit sent shockwaves to many people. Siyabonga seemingly left the show after rumours gained momentum that if the soapie’s numbers did not improve, the channel was considering pulling the plug on it.

4. Sdumo Mtshali

The multi-award-winning actor left the show reportedly to join a new SABC 3 soapie The Estate. Sdumo also left the show seemingly due to its viewership drama behind the scenes.

5. Menzi Ngubane

The actor said he left the show on a positive note after it was alleged that he was fired. Menzi released a statement on Instagram, to set the record straight on his exit. His Manager said “There have been misinformed reports that Menzi was dumped by the producers of Isibaya. However, we would like to clarify that the character had run its course, and unfortunately if there is no story to be told the character will unfortunately die. Menzi is leaving Isibaya on a positive note having contributed to a great production, most importantly he entertained South Africans” Said Naomi Mokhele.

The actor landed a role on The Queen but due to his illness, his appearance was postponed.

The video of the incident which was recorded by a family member who was present when the whole drama took place has gone viral. The two are seen quarrelling and in the midst of the chaos the mother-in-law then loses her cool and slaps her daughter-in-law.

Thank God the daughter-in-law did not respond back by beating her, instead she just continued shouting at her and said she was going to wait for her hubby. But she makes it clear that she did not fight back out of respect for her. Had the law had another side she would have hit her back. Watch the video below

The recent events around my person and my political life have placed my life and that of my family at great risk to the extent that after consultation with my family and have decided to take a sabbatical from active politics until such time that the dangers and my family face can be contained.

In accordance with this public statement, I have written to Honourable Amos Chibaya, the MDC National organising secretary advising of this my decision.

“Themba and I are human and grown-ups and we don’t let the way that I’m a VIP meddle with what we have,” Rebecca tells Move.

“Themba and I were companions for a year prior to getting in a relationship. Being companions previously was acceptable on the grounds that we became more acquainted with one another better, as it very well may be hard to track down an individual who will support and cherish you truly,” she said.

Minister Larry Mavima recovers from COVID-19. Mavima spoke to the publication about his recovery and said: I have fully recovered from the virus and this morning I received my results and I am now negative.

Midlands Provincial Affairs Minister Larry Mavima has recovered from COVID-19, The Herald reports. Mavima recently tested negative for the virus according to the publication after he had been in isolation since the turn of the new month when he tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

I would like to thank Government for the support, the doctors who worked hard attending to me and the prayers I got from the loving Zimbabweans during the time I was diagnosed until I recovered.

Mavima warned people to adhere to precautionary and containment measures as he said the disease is real:

The disease is real, we still have the disease in our midst so we need to be very careful and responsible. We need to follow recommended guidelines like putting on our masks properly for Covid 19 has no boundaries, it can attack anyone no matter the position or post in life.

There has been visible laxity in terms of following recommended health procedures and it is worrisome. We need to properly put on our masks, maintain social distancing and always sanitise because no one needs to revert back to the initial lockdown situation but as Zimbabweans, we need to be responsible always

Mavima is one of the top government officials who publicized their COVID-19 diagnosis including Deputy Sports Minister Machakaire among others.

South Africa businesses react to xenophobic attacks

South Africa businesses react to xenophobic attacks. Protestors reportedly marched in Durban on Monday 23 November and 20 trucks were petrol-bombed on some roads in the country.

Authorities in different arms of the South African government are seriously considering putting laws that discourage local companies from hiring foreign nationals as tensions over unemployment in some industries like the trucking industries flair up, Business tech reports.

Addressing the issue, KZN premier Sihle Zikalala said the Department of Labour and Home Affairs is currently involved in a process of developing legislation according to the publication, Zikalala reportedly said:

We must, however, reiterate that we will not allow lawlessness to threaten our economy, more so as we emerge from the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

We thus call on those who have grievances to work with us and not to shut down our roads, torch trucks or even resort to attacking truck drivers as has happened before.

The country’s labor minister Thulas Nxesi in July reportedly said the law they are working on was not going to be limited to the freight sector only but it would also affect other sectors that are employing foreigners including:

  • The hospitality sector;
  • Restaurants;
  • Security;
  • Farming and agriculture.

Addressing the issue Nxesi said: We are looking into this matter in a proper way. However, it is important to remember that we can’t just do away with foreigners’. Some of them are refugees and legally supposed to be here.

The issue that we have to deal with is the illegal people which have been employed without any papers from Home Affairs. Last year South Africans protested against foreigners and their businesses and accused them of taking their jobs especially in the sectors mentioned above.

MDC-T VP Mudzuri: Chamisa, Khupe fight hindering us from dialoguing with ED

MDC-T VP Mudzuri: Chamisa, Khupe fight hindering us from dialoguing with ED. Mudzuri said: As senior leaders in the MDC, we need to sit down and talk. Everyone must accept his or her weaknesses, and we must tell each other the truth.

Former Cabinet Minister and MDC T bigwig Elias Mudzuri while speaking to the Daily News said all factions in the MDC T and the MDC Alliance should sit down and talk and accept their weaknesses because they cannot approach President Mnangagwa if they are still divided to dialogue with him about trying to find a solution to the Zimbabwean crisis.

Unity is the best way forward … we cannot continue fighting like this. We are one family, we worked together for 20 years and it’s easy for us to work together again. In Shona they say mukanetsana siyai peukama.

Building unity is a process and it’s not a one-day thing. I think before 2023 we will talk together and find common ground,

So, there is a need to talk to each other before we engage Zanu PF. At the moment the opposition is divided. So, Zanu PF will take advantage of that.

We must be able to talk to Zanu PF because we are all Zimbabweans and we must build this country together. Factionalism must end so that we work to build our party. As Zimbabweans, we must work to build strong government institutions.

The infighting started in March this year when the supreme court declared Khupe the MDC T rightful leader and the faction led by Khupe started recalling legislators and councillors elected using the MDC Alliance cards till Khupe herself came back into the Parliament as the leader of the opposition through proportional representation.

I don’t know why women are so bitter! She was with a man all this while…why did she endure..why didn’t she get her man help? This is getting old. Women becoming spiteful after a relationship goes sour. It might be true….but we are already skewed towards thinking she is just spiteful….we need to do more as human beings…this is also in men sometimes, we do this kind of thing and it’s sad and soooooo shallow. #dropsmic 🙌

Nadia Nakai on why Cassper Nyovest and AKA are beefing

$

The beef between Cassper Nyovest and AKA has dragged on for longer than anybody can imagine. Many people have been battling to understand why did the beef start and when. More especially when will it end and what do they gain from not getting along. Well Cassper’s mentee, Nadia Nakai has revealed the real reason the two rappers are beefing, putting many things into perspective.

Speaking to rapper Khuli Chana on his music talk show on Trace called The Originators, Nadia believes that she might have been the reason the two decided to beef.

Taking it back to 2015, AKA did a remix of his hit song Baddest and featured some of the femcees who were and still are killing it in the game. On the Baddest remix, female rappers such as Rouge, Fifi Cooper, Nomuzi Mabhena, and Gigi Lamayne were featured except for Nadia.

Bragga believes AKA left her out on purpose as he might have had a hidden agenda and Cassper agreed with her. His snub drove her into Cass’s shadow and the rest is history.

“When AKA released the Baddest Remix with all the female Emcees that made Cassper & TLee more drawn to work with me because they felt I was left out on purpose,” Nadia told the rapper.

Even though Nadia and Cassper have a very strong working relationship, to the point where people thought they are an item, they have had their worst moments. During the recording of Any Minute Now, Nyovest shared on Twitter that he and Nadia Nakia do not always see eye to eye and they were pictured arguing with Nakia even throwing her hands in the air.

Cass laughed it off saying he wants the best for Nadia hence the constant bickering, “Hahaha Jabu is evil for these pictures!!! #AMN gone be lit doe!!! You know I always fight for a good cause!!! I gotta have you at your best lil sis!!! Aye but today was hard I won’t lie but we pulled though!!!”

Cassper revealed to Texx And The City why he does not like AKA and probably never will. He reveals that he is not scared of AKA like everybody else is in the industry. Cass believes that he is the ‘realest’ and tells Mega the way it is without fear.

Despite wanting to mize anything that has to do with AKA, whether positive or negative, Cassper just can’t seem to ignore the feeling of hatred he has towards AKA.

“I don’t like that guy man,” he said before adding, that he is not afraid to call him out on his “nonsense.” He did try to make amends with AKA, not to become friends but just to squash the beef, but AKA was not interested.
